These units, consisting of a Servo Motor with an integrated Servo Drive affixed to the top, are a streamlined fit for applications requiring position, speed, and/or torque control. Due to their integrated design, component compatability is ensured and only I/O and input power cables are required, eliminating some of the cable-management headaches that come with other Servo Systems. With no specific connector requirements, users are free to use cables from any manufacturer or even assemble their own, potentially reducing overall system cost and lead times.
MD series units are designed to switch dynamically between several control methods and can operate position control mode with pulse and direction inputs, making them a simple and cost-effective upgrade for stepper motor applications. Additionally, each drive comes with an RS232 port, which can be operated using Modbus RTU or CANopen protocol, and additional communication ports such as RS485 are also available. These versatile communication protocols offer options for designers and integrators with diverse needs across industries. Free, easy-to-use pprogramming software can be downloaded for added convenience.
